Multiple uterine fibroid cysts, how to surgically treat

Patient's question:

In May 2012, the uterus was enlarged, measuring 10 x 5.7 x 8.1 cm. The basal echo was uneven, and a myoma approximately 6.7 x 4.8 cm in size was visible. There was a cystic structure approximately 2.1 x 2.0 cm in size in the left adnexal region.

Doctor's answer:

Tumors smaller than 5 cm can be treated with medication to control the growth of fibroids. If the size exceeds 5 cm, doctors will recommend surgical treatment. Generally, a single fibroid can be removed through surgery. For multiple fibroids, especially in patients who have not yet entered menopause, doctors may suggest a hysterectomy to prevent further growth of the fibroids.
