How long after ectopic pregnancy surgery can you get pregnant, and what other tests do you need to take?

Patient's question:

In April 2011, I had an ectopic pregnancy with a window surgery. Contraception was used for 3 months. In August 2012, I got pregnant again, and it was another ectopic pregnancy. I had laparoscopic surgery and had my fallopian tube preserved.

Doctor's answer:

You can get pregnant. The shortest period should not be less than 6 months, and it usually takes around 9 months. It is recommended to undergo tests such as fallopian tube angiography to confirm whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed and to rule out gynecological inflammation such as pelvic inflammatory disease and peritonitis. If the fallopian tubes are blocked, fallopian tube irrigation may be performed. If there is pelvic inflammatory disease or other gynecological inflammation, it is best to treat the inflammation first. Otherwise, if pregnancy occurs without completely eliminating the inflammation, the fallopian tubes may become blocked due to inflammation, increasing the risk of ectopic pregnancy.
