Against the backdrop of advancing economic globalization, the existing development strategies, which were originally considered to be based on opening up to the outside world, face increasingly significant constraints and limitations in both policy implementation and interest realization. This situation necessitates a transformation of the original development strategies for developing countries. This book first reviews the two main development strategies that have been adopted by developing countries, comparing their economic performance, with a particular focus on an in-depth analysis of the outcomes of the export-oriented strategy in trade development and industrial upgrading. It then discusses the challenges faced by the export-oriented strategy in the context of global economic development. Building on this foundation, the book proposes that, under the external conditions of economic globalization, the new development strategy for developing countries is the global perspective strategy, and elaborates on its three dimensions in terms of connotation and development goals. Subsequently, it analyzes the opportunities brought by the global perspective strategy to developing countries in their dual tasks of industrialization and informatization, as well as the uncertainties in its implementation and prospects. Finally, it explores the significance of the global perspective strategy for China's process of opening up to the outside world.
