Polycystic Ovary Prepare for Artificial Insemination

Patient's question:

Polycystic ovary syndrome, small antrum ovulation in two months

Doctor's answer:

It is a steroid complex with potent and highly specific non-steroidal antiandrogenic effects. It does not have intrinsic hormonal or gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonistic activity and does not reduce steroid synthesis, but inhibits androgen effects through receptor binding. Compared to ciproterone acetate, its treatment leads to elevated serum androgen levels (including total testosterone and free testosterone), but since the effects of androgen target organs are antagonized, clinical manifestations do not worsen despite the rise in serum androgen levels. The treatment dose is commonly selected at 250 mg/day. Long-term and high-dose use may cause liver damage, and whether it causes fetal malformations is still undetermined. Therefore, contraception should be used during medication.
