Features: Since the 21st century, the number of drug varieties has increased extremely rapidly. Moreover, shortly after a new drug is launched, a large number of synonyms and trade names follow its generic name. Although doctors are required to write the generic name of a drug on prescriptions, due to the fact that any drug has many different trade names with varying prices, prescriptions still need to include a specific trade name to ensure accurate dispensing and pricing. For physicians and pharmacists, it is indeed quite challenging to remember which trade name corresponds to which drug and what its generic name is; for employees of pharmaceutical companies, retail pharmacies, and healthcare insurance management departments across the country, it is even more difficult. To help clinical physicians, hospital pharmacists, practicing pharmacists in relevant departments, and healthcare insurance management staff overcome memory difficulties, we have compiled this "Practical Handbook of Drug Generic and Synonym Names," which includes the generic names and synonyms (including trade names) of common drugs (including recently launched new drugs) both domestically and internationally. This book collects approximately 25,000 generic drug names (including "INN" and Chinese generic names) and 45,000 Chinese and foreign synonyms (including trade names). This is especially valuable for pharmaceutical sales personnel. The English generic names (INN) are based on the "Drug Dictionary" published by the World Health Organization (WHO), while the Chinese generic names are derived from the "Generic Drug Names of China" compiled by the Pharmacopoeia Commission (1997 edition and 1998 supplement). For some recently launched new drugs that still lack official Chinese generic names, this book temporarily adopts generic names proposed by the Pharmacopoeia Commission based on its drug naming principles. To enable readers to quickly find drug names, this book's index not only lists the page numbers where drug names are found but also specifies the exact line numbers, which may be a method yet to be adopted by similar books in China.
