Features: The place-name folk songs selected in this book are mainly sourced from the folk songs included in the Comprehensive Collection of Chinese Folk Songs (Beijing Volume). When selected for the Comprehensive Collection, the folk songs were required to maintain scientific rigor and preserve their original state during collection and recording. As a result, the same song may evolve into different versions when ( means "circulated" or "spread" in this context) in different regions. The Comprehensive Collection published these songs by listing multiple versions simultaneously, marked with (1), (2), (3), etc. In this book, when adopting these songs, the shared and representative parts from several songs were extracted and rewritten as a single song. All folk songs are accompanied by brief annotations. The sources used, except those noted at the end of the book, are sometimes marked within the text. Following the convention of the Comprehensive Collection of Chinese Folk Songs (Beijing Volume), a few supplementary notes are added after each annotation to further elaborate on the folk song's content and background, enabling readers to gain a deeper understanding.
