Features: The characters selected in this book mostly have tragic fates. To say so might not be entirely accurate, but at least, in the history behind them, they have been obscured. Interestingly, the fates of these characters are mirrored by the articles selected in this book, none of which are highly moralistic or contain profound meanings. I do not know what circumstances initially motivated scholars to delve into these figures, but as for me, compiling a book like this is driven not only by personal interest but also by the desire to remove the veils of words and return to the origins of history. In these relatively raw stories, if there is any lesson to be drawn, it is this: We can only be our own moral judges.
