1. The base text used for this compilation and collation is the Jialing Sun Youlian reprinted edition of the 20th year of the Daoguang era in the Qing Dynasty and the Enping County Zhang Xianghuan Hanmo Garden edition of the 29th year of the Daoguang era in the Qing Dynasty. It supplements the two major parts of "Guitai" (Fetal Evil) and "Zongzi" (Seed) that were omitted in the January 1978 edition of the Shanghai People's Publishing House, preserving the full content of this book. New punctuation marks are adopted throughout the book.
2. The items added for the interpretation and translation of this book are: a "Brief Introduction" added before each independent chapter to briefly summarize or hint at the content of the chapter, allowing readers to understand the main points at a glance.
3. At the end of each argument, annotations, translations, the editor's notes, and modern references are added. The annotations are in colloquial language, primarily referencing works such as The Great Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine, The Concise Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Selected Explanations of TCM Terminology, and The Great Dictionary of Chinese Materia Medica. The translations combine literal and interpretive methods; terminology and writing styles are in line with modern TCM usage. Modern references are selected from papers published in domestic medical journals over the past three decades, related to the diseases discussed in each section, for readers' reference.
