Features: This book selects ten prime ministers from Japan's 55 prime ministers, who have represented different social forces in Japanese politics and whose terms in office have had varying impacts on Japan domestically, its East Asian neighbors, and even the world. These ten prime ministers include Itō Hirobumi, ōkuma Shigenobu, Tōjō Hideki, and others. In the narrative, efforts are made to place these figures in their historical context, explaining both the people and their deeds, as well as analyzing the times and circumstances, to provide readers with an understanding of the development of modern and contemporary Japanese history in its neighboring country.
