Features: The book "Yuxuan Gu Fang Shiyi" was selected and compiled by Yu Jiayan in the 18th year of Daoguang () in the Qing Dynasty, with Wang Guangxin recording it. Published in 1838, it is a comprehensive medical pharmaceutical work where the author selected and classified formulas from the "Bencao Gangmu," arranging them into categories. The book is divided into four volumes. Volume 1 includes rules for combining and dosing medicines, medication instructions, precautions, and general treatment formulas. The following three volumes are further categorized, covering the treatments and formulas for various medical disciplines such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, urology, otology, rhinology, laryngology, stomatology, dermatology, orthopedics, smallpox and rashes, infectious diseases, injuries from insects and animals, poisoning, and alchemy. The selected formulas include both traditional ancient prescriptions and a large number of folk remedies, empirical formulas, and specialized formulas. The book is meticulously argued, concise, easy to understand, and has rigorous principles, with many formulas verified through experience. "Only when the evidence is clear and convincing does the author dare to write, knowing that it will not deceive me. The selected and compiled works are sometimes imperfect, but they provide insights and are accompanied by tested formulas."
