Features: Zhai Zhonghe, born in 1930, is from Liyang, Jiangsu. He graduated from the Department of Biology at Leningrad University (now St. Petersburg State University) in the Soviet Union in 1956. Upon returning to China, he taught at the Department of Biology at Peking University. Later, he studied at the Institute of Biophysics, Soviet Academy of Sciences, and served as a visiting professor at the Department of Biology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Currently, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Department of Biology, Peking University, and concurrently serves as the Vice President of the Chinese Society of Cell Biology and the Standing Council Member of the Chinese Society of Electron Microscopy. Professor Zhai Zhonghe was among the early pioneers in establishing cell ultrastructure techniques and was the first to develop a duck plague cell vaccine. He has achieved outstanding accomplishments in the relationship between animal virus replication and cellular structure. Recently, he was the first to internationally confirm the existence of a chromosome scaffold and a nuclear scaffold in primitive eukaryotic cells, and he was the first in China to establish an experimental model for nuclear reconstruction in a non-cellular system, visually demonstrating the nuclear scaffold system of the reconstructed nucleus. These achievements have received high international recognition. This collection compiles the main achievements of Professor Zhai Zhonghe in teaching and research over the decades. The content is quite rich, and to comprehensively and selectively reflect these significant accomplishments, the book is arranged in two ways: full-text publication and publication with a catalog.
