The book is divided into five major parts: the ten renowned famous streets, the twelve notable street districts, specialized feature streets, historical famous streets, and appendices. It also covers the development of the modern Yuyuan Commercial Complex, offering traditional-style sightseeing, shopping, snack food, and leisure activities, as well as major cultural and tourism events and guest reception services.
The book also lists 16 historical famous streets, and the appendix includes the Top Eight Commercial Centers in Shanghai, the first batch of 268 "Chinese Time-honored Brands," municipal cultural heritage sites, and other commemorative locations in Shanghai.
