This book aims to summarize the experience of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases, promote and popularize advanced achievements in this field, and provide a systematic, comprehensive, and practical reference book for gynecologists and grassroots medical personnel. A group of renowned experts in traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine, and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine compiled this book. This book emphasizes clinical practicality, highlights the characteristics of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and collects the strengths of various experts, making it relatively systematic. It comprehensively introduces the knowledge of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine gynecology, with the following three key features:
1. Systematicity: The book is divided into six parts. It first introduces the anatomical knowledge of gynecology in Western medicine, physiology, and the theories of traditional Chinese medicine regarding menstruation, leukorrhea, and pregnancy. The section on gynecological diseases attempts to be as comprehensive and systematic as possible, with particularly detailed descriptions of common and frequent diseases. The section on gynecological diagnostics introduces both Western and traditional Chinese diagnostic methods, explaining the principles, indications, contraindications, procedures, clinical applications, and precautions of special gynecological examination methods. The section on gynecological treatment introduces both Western and traditional Chinese treatment methods (such as endocrine therapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy for malignant tumors, the application of antibiotics in gynecological diseases, and physical therapy) and traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods (such as internal and external treatments, emergency treatments, and acupuncture and moxibustion). It also includes contraindications for gynecological medications. Finally, it introduces the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment of some gynecological conditions. At the end of the book, there is an index of commonly used gynecological prescriptions and reference values for normal gynecological tests.
2. Advancement: The authors of this book are mostly gynecological experts and professors with decades of clinical experience. Some, even in their sixties, personally wrote and contributed their lifelong accumulated valuable experience and materials to the book. Others personally reviewed the manuscript and guided the writing process, ensuring the quality and advancement of the book.
3. Practicality: The book adheres to the principle of "combining theory with practice while emphasizing practicality." It concisely and practically describes diagnostic and treatment techniques suitable for China. It also provides clear and accessible introductions to theories that have practical guiding significance. Detailed descriptions are given for common, frequent, and sexually transmitted diseases, which occupy a significant portion of the book. Additionally, it explores the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of gynecological emergencies.
