Features: There are two works in this "Collection" that require some explanation. One is "Joyful Days" (Op. 2b). It was originally titled "Days of Upheaval" (Op. 2a), composed in 1953 as a film score and is the only band work from the author's early period included in this collection. In 2005, the author adapted it into a Western orchestral version, striving to preserve its original character while making minor adjustments to harmony and orchestration, and changing the title to "Joyful Days" to better reflect the music's nature. The original 1953 score is published as an "appendix," allowing insight into the author's early creative phase. The other is the suite "Fishing Songs of the South Sea." It was originally composed in 1965 for the ethnic dance drama "Great Wall of the South Sea." In 2003, the author began revising it, preserving the melody while boldly innovating in other aspects. Some of these works retain their numbering from 1960, but in terms of orchestral technique, they belong to the late creative period, making them a "hybrid" of the middle and late stages—a special case.
