Features: The "Preface and Postface to the Regulation of Sending Forth the Troops" by Zhuge Liang, written in running script, is only available as an engraved stone and has never been seen in ink. Engraved stones of this piece can be found in the Wuhou Temple in Chengdu, the Wuhou Temple in Nanyang, the Yue Temple in Tangyin, and the Xiaoyuan Garden in Jinan Daming Lake. There has always been controversy over the authenticity of this piece, especially regarding the character "Huan" in the line "When the late Emperor was in power, he often discussed this matter with me, and he never failed to sigh with grief and hatred for Huan and Ling." The character "Huan" was the taboo name of Emperor Qinzong of Song, and it should have been abbreviated when written, yet this piece shows it in full, making it a clear forgery. Some have even researched and confirmed that this piece is a forgery created by Ming Dynasty scholars under the name of Yue Fei. However, regardless of its authenticity, from the perspective of calligraphic art, it is still quite admirable. Even if it is considered a forgery, it in no way diminishes its artistic value. Just like the surviving mixed works of the "Two Wangs," who dares to claim that all of them are genuine, and who doubts their value? After all, the study of stele and rubbing authentication is entirely separate from calligraphic art, and this piece has not been overlooked for its artistic value despite the debate over its authenticity. The widespread dissemination and significant influence of this piece also prove this point. There are two obvious missing characters in the text, marked in parentheses in the annotation, and calligraphers should take note.
