Features: Yunnan—located in the southwestern corner of the motherland, is a beautiful place named after the "Colorful Clouds of Yunnan." The people living on this red soil plateau for generations, in addition to the Han ethnic group, also include 25 ethnic groups with a population of over 4,000. They are: the Yi, Bai, Hani, Zhuang, Dai, Miao, Lisu, Hui, Lahu, Wa, Naxi, Yao, Tibetan, Jingpo,,,,,,, Mongolian, Bouyei, Dulong, and Miao. When we immerse ourselves among the ethnic minority brothers and sisters of Yunnan, what impresses us most is how their physiques, full of the spirit of the red soil plateau, are so strong, how their faces, bathed in the sunshine of the red soil plateau, are so innocent, and how their hearts, filled with the mountain spring water of the red soil plateau, are so kind. It is then that we are inspired to "photograph" the children of the red soil plateau. We wish to use our cameras to genuinely capture their demeanor and smiles, to record their magical, splendid, and long-standing culture and life. Let the wrinkles of the elders tell us the hardships they have endured here; let the smiles of the children show us a more beautiful tomorrow. We hope to use this album to introduce the children of the red soil plateau to the warm and friendly people of the world. Let us join the ethnic minority brothers and sisters of Yunnan and become their friends!
