The exercises cover four parts: writing audience and purpose, text structure, syntactic analysis, and lexical research, involving various aspects of writing such as the intent and audience, organization and structure of the text, transitions and expansion of paragraphs, selection and use of sentence patterns, analysis and comparison of vocabulary, logic and expression of language, style and tone, rhetoric and allusions, rhythm and rhyme, quotations and euphemisms, word formation and etymology, etc. Some of the questions are quite subtle and difficult to interpret, and we found it challenging to provide definitive answers when compiling them. Moreover, due to differing perspectives and viewpoints among readers regarding the original text, the conclusions and answers may not be entirely consistent, with some even being entirely opposite. This is understandable. The answers provided in this book are merely reference solutions.
