Features: The development of ancient Chinese poetry reached its peak in the Tang Dynasty, where a flourishing scene of diverse poetic styles emerged. One of the of this new era of poetry was the great variety of poetic forms. Traditional Chinese poetry can be categorized based on the number of characters per line into four-character, five-character, seven-character, and mixed-character styles, with five-character and seven-character lines being the basic forms. Based on the number of lines and meter, it can be further divided into classical poetry, regulated verse, and quatrains. Quatrains are the shortest form of traditional Chinese poetry. Jin Shengtan analyzed Tang Dynasty regulated verse and considered each poem to be composed of two quatrains. The "West Bank Tune" in five-character classical poetry and the style of the Four Masters in seven-character classical poetry can also be seen as composed of several quatrains. Moreover, the origin of the ci form of poetry includes the quatrain, which is an undeniable fact.
