Features: Yuanqu (quyi) and classical Chinese are, like Tang and Song poetry and ci, part of the essence of ancient Chinese literature. Yuanqu is sharp and vivid, suitable for both the common and the refined, with distinct characteristics; classical Chinese encompasses various styles, each unique. They possess beautiful rhythms, rich language, profound imagery, and are easy to recite, having long been cherished by people. In ancient times, children learning to read and scholars pursuing education placed great importance on the function of reciting literature, as it allowed them to fully experience the emotions and rhythms, as well as the essence of the works of their predecessors, and to more deeply appreciate their meanings. Practice has proven that reciting classical Chinese poetry and prose is an effective way to learn traditional culture. In today's effort to build socialist spiritual civilization, activities to recite classic literary works are beneficial for enhancing people's traditional cultural literacy, fostering a civilized and harmonious social atmosphere, promoting social righteousness, and refining people's thoughts and sentiments. For this purpose, we have adapted and published the · (Classical Chinese Readings with Famous Paintings) based on our previous works, · (Three Hundred Yuanqu Poems with Paintings) and · (Two Hundred Classical Chinese Pieces with Paintings), which now complement the earlier published · (Three Hundred Tang Poems with Famous Paintings) and · (Three Hundred Tang and Song Ci Poems with Famous Paintings). To suit readers with a medium level of education, we have added pinyin annotations for obscure characters that are difficult to read or recognize and for polyphonic characters that are easily mispronounced in the original text. We have also underlined well-known and memorable lines for easy identification.
