Features: "Have I really become stronger?" Jin looked at his hands with the last glow of the slowly dimming light sphere. Perhaps his strength had indeed grown, but this gradual process was something he couldn’t fully sense. "Even if it’s a bit stronger, I’m still far from my teacher!" The mage sighed, not bothering to consider the age gap between them—they were a full sixty or seventy years apart! The surroundings were already silent, shrouded in darkness. The mage fumbled his way into his tent, but he couldn’t sleep. Though he knew his strength was insufficient, a desire surged within him—a craving to unleash all the powerful spells he knew. "Magic has no shortcuts!" Lying in his bed, Jin recalled his life at the Magic Academy. This was something a teacher often said, a motto he used to encourage his students. Unfortunately, Jin couldn’t remember the teacher’s name anymore. Were there really no shortcuts? The mage thought of Wolf’s words. If he had agreed back then, he might have already become a zombie mage of the same level as his teacher. Was that really a shortcut? "What could the mysterious zombie mage want from me?" The mage stopped pondering the unanswerable question. He now had more pressing issues to face. This was indeed strange. No matter how hard Jin racked his brain, he couldn’t recall when he had ever met the zombie mage. In fact, before coming to the Necropolis Island, Jin had never encountered any necromancers. Even after arriving on the island, he had only seen Wolf, not any other zombie mages. The zombie mage must be harmless! The situation was likely just as Wolf had said. If he had any ill intentions, he wouldn’t need to go through Wolf to contact them—he could simply wait for them on their (path of necessity). Wolf had told him that the zombie mage was a special being on the Necropolis Island, one shunned by other necromancers.
