Features: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! In May, Beijing is in full bloom with flowers and vibrant life. In this beautiful season, the China Development Research Center and the Beijing Municipal People's Government jointly hosted the "2005 Beijing Forum of Nobel Laureates," bringing together friends from around the world for various forms of exchange and dialogue, which is highly meaningful. On behalf of the Chinese government and in my personal capacity, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the forum's successful opening! I also extend my sincere welcome to the Nobel Laureates, economists, and all the distinguished guests attending the forum! This forum is themed "Harmony and Development of Humanity." It introduces cutting-edge economic theories, explores issues of economic development and social harmony, and researches and proposes relevant policy recommendations. This will contribute to a deeper understanding of some of the challenges humanity faces in development, as well as promote the integration of economic theory and social practice, which will have a positive impact. This is a high-level academic exchange event and a valuable opportunity for us to learn scientific knowledge and draw lessons from international experience.
