Features: TV ratings research is a big issue, a specialized field, and I am quite unqualified to speak on it. Here, I dare not discuss the theory and methods of TV ratings research, only share some personal reflections. Currently, TV sets are widely in China, with China having the world's largest population. The more the population, the more people who watch TV. In cities, this is obvious, but in rural areas, TV sets are also gradually, thanks to government promotion and support. Except for a few extremely impoverished regions, every village has TV sets.
Among news media, TV has risen to prominence, gaining widespread attention and popularity. It offers both visuals and audio, making viewers feel as if they are present. Without leaving home, people can observe the changes and developments at home and abroad, as well as the beauty of landscapes, scientific achievements, dramas, songs and dances, market goods, and the lives of notable figures. They can even participate, express their opinions, critique TV programs, see their own reflections on the screen, or even share their unfair fate with a broad audience.
For ordinary Chinese people, TV holds immense appeal. TV stations and audiences become one, forming an important channel for ideological exchange. Is there a more popular medium in the world than TV? No. TV has become the closest friend for people around the world to understand and learn from each other.
