Features: This little book merely treats slang as a social phenomenon and introduces it to readers in a light and natural style, simply aiming to give them a basic understanding without any intention of praise or criticism. Exploring and studying it as the language of an era is the work of linguists, and this little book is certainly not capable of such a heavy responsibility. In light of this, the selection in this book does not include all slang expressions. Some slang deemed unhealthy by the editors has been excluded, and the focus is more on social phenomena that have been linguistically adopted, such as "The Xth Intimate Encounter," "Speak the Truth," "Incompatible," "Electronic Dating Machine," "Opening Quotation Marks," "A Sigh," "Going Too Far," "Give Me a Cup of Black Coffee," "T-Shirt," "Lemon Tea Face," "Youth Format," "The Seven-Year Itch," "Wearing Fake Luxury Brands," "Cyber Knights," "Bird Youth," "Kindergarten Style," "Recently Quite Troubled," and "Neutral Attitude," etc. From this perspective, calling this book "A Popular Phenomenon" might be more accurate. However, it is still titled "Popular Cool Slang," indicating that the editors are also somewhat influenced by this trend—perhaps this itself is a social phenomenon. It would be somewhat regrettable not to include the term "Popular Cool Slang" as a phenomenon in this book! It should be noted that while many people use the slang collected in this book, some of them are still merely spoken slang. Spoken language naturally has specific contexts of use, and using it as written language would be inappropriate, potentially causing awkwardness. Therefore, we kindly ask readers to treat it as spoken slang for now!
