This book can serve as a textbook or reference for undergraduate and graduate courses on "Dynamic Economics," as well as for researchers. It is based on the lecture notes prepared by the authors for the "Dynamic Economics" course offered to master's and doctoral students at the School of Economics, Nankai University. The book is divided into seven chapters. Chapter 1 provides a brief introduction to MATLAB, Chapter 2 elaborates on the basic MATLAB knowledge relevant to dynamic economics and offers numerous application examples. Chapters 3 to 5 introduce the theoretical foundations of dynamic economics—differential equations, difference equations, and modern control theory—and demonstrate the application of MATLAB in dynamic economics with many examples. Chapters 6 and 7, respectively, explore the application of MATLAB in the dynamic analysis of microeconomics and macroeconomics. The book strives to closely integrate theoretical derivations with MATLAB applications. In some examples, theoretical derivations are presented first, followed by the results obtained using MATLAB. This approach not only enhances learning efficiency but also enables readers to quickly grasp the theoretical and methodological foundations of dynamic analysis for economic systems, as well as MATLAB application techniques.
