Features: The Feng Shui of Mountains In Chinese Feng Shui, mountains are compared to dragons, soil to the dragon's flesh, stones to the dragon's bones, and plants to the dragon's scales. Therefore, there are concepts like "coming dragon and going dragon" and "recording dragon and capturing the vein." The Earth's surface has physical properties of reflecting and absorbing cosmic rays, waves, light, and other radiations. Thus, the concave and convex states of the Earth's surface determine the differences in reflection and absorption, while the configuration of mountain rings determines these proportional relationships. In mountain-ringed areas, there is ample rainfall, sunshine, and nutrients, leading to lush vegetation and abundant wildlife, making "accumulating qi" a natural outcome.
If the mountain behind a residence is rugged and rocky, with barren soil, it is traditionally referred to as a "Lianzhen Mountain." Its ecological environment is far worse than that of mountain-ringed areas. In good Feng Shui land, plants grow lushly, and water and soil quality are excellent. Clear mountains and beautiful waters are full of vitality, while gaunt, rocky mountains are lifeless, sparse in vegetation, and resemble menacing monsters, evoking a sense of terror. Such mountains lack nourishment and moisture, making them unsuitable for life.
A. When selecting a residence, it is advisable to have a lower front and higher back. The "higher back" refers to having a backing mountain, providing a sense of stability. This terrain not only benefits climate factors like lighting and ventilation but also creates a "hugging" sensation, fulfilling humanity's subconscious need for being embraced and filled with a sense of security. Sitting in the hall, one can have a panoramic view.
B. When selecting a residence, avoid places with a higher front and lower back. The "higher front" blocks the flow of qi, leaving the back unsupported, creating a sense of precariousness and immense psychological pressure.
C. When selecting a residence, avoid basin-like layouts. If all sides are higher than the residence, water flow stagnates, qi energy does not circulate, and ventilation, lighting, and drainage are poor. Accumulation of murky qi is harmful to the health of the residents.
