Clinical Basic Laboratory Medicine is a compulsory major course for students in laboratory medicine. It holds an important position in the daily work of clinical laboratories, especially in routine laboratories. Without a solid grasp of basic clinical testing techniques, one cannot perform the job effectively. During the writing process of this textbook, we conducted thorough research on medical schools and hospital laboratories at various educational levels, incorporating the opinions and suggestions of many frontline teachers and clinical laboratory managers. This played a significant guiding role in helping us determine the knowledge content, depth, and breadth of the textbook.
This textbook consists of four parts, divided into 20 chapters, covering blood tests, blood grouping and blood transfusion tests, excreta, secretions, and body fluid tests, as well as cytology of exfoliated cells and fine needle aspirates. The tested specimens include blood, urine, feces, various body fluids and excreta, secretions, as well as exfoliated cells and aspirates. The examination techniques primarily involve physical examination, chemical examination, microscopic examination, and automated testing.
