Features: "21st Century College English Reading and Writing Course" (edited by Yu Jianzhong, published by Fudan University Press and Higher Education Press) is a teaching material approved by the State Education Commission, designed for university students and learners of equivalent level (undergraduates in arts and sciences). To help students and self-learners of English better study and use this course, we have specially compiled supplementary materials——《21st Century College English Reading and Writing Course Study Guide》. The guide is divided into five volumes, corresponding to the lessons of the original textbook. Each lesson consists of the following five parts:
Reference Translation: The entire text is translated into Chinese. The translation focuses on accuracy while striving for fluency, clarity, and ease of understanding.
Word Highlights: Key vocabulary and phrases in the text are explained in a progressive and comprehensive manner, integrating the context of the lesson and CET (College English Test) and CET-6 (College English Test Band 6) exam points. Especially in aligning with the new CET and CET-6 syllabi, our explanations achieve a balance of authenticity, detail, and precision.
Text Annotations: Some allusions, proper names, geographical terms, and typical grammatical and rhetorical phenomena in the text are annotated in Chinese. The annotations aim to be clear, detailed, and selective, focusing on challenging aspects.
Solutions to Exercises: All exercises in each lesson, including oral exercises, are provided with appropriate answers and explanations. The answers provided are for reference only, and students are encouraged to develop their own perspectives and insights while studying.
Post-Lesson Tests: We have also arranged a certain number of exercises for students after each lesson. These exercises repeatedly test and train on the key points and easily confused areas of the text, accompanied by detailed analyses.
