Features: This book consists of three parts: the basics of MATLAB simulation language, the basics of MATLAB simulation for control systems, and MATLAB computation and simulation for control systems. The first part introduces the relevant knowledge of the MATLAB 6.5 system, including the system interface of MATLAB 6.5, its programming language and methods, numerical and symbolic computations, MATLAB Live Notebook, and basic plotting functions. The middle part covers the fundamentals of MATLAB simulation for control systems, detailing the Simulink 5.0 simulation integration environment, mathematical models for control system simulation, time-domain analysis, stability analysis, steady-state error analysis, root locus analysis, frequency-domain analysis, and the MATLAB implementation of describing function methods for analyzing nonlinear systems. The last part is the core content of the book, introducing MATLAB computation and simulation for classical control systems such as driving control systems, position servo systems, and process control systems, as well as automatic control system design, MATLAB computation and simulation for state-space analysis, and MATLAB computation and simulation for linear quadratic optimal control. The book contains 18 chapters with rich examples and detailed content. Most examples are derived from textbooks on automatic control theory, electric driving control, position servo control, production process control, and modern control theory, while others are based on practical engineering projects. All example programs have been thoroughly debugged by the author and can run in MATLAB as well as in Live Notebook (except for some mouse-operated graphical function commands that must be executed in the MATLAB command window). This book can serve as a textbook for various disciplines in automatic control (e.g., industrial automation, electrical automation, mechatronics, process control, chemical automation, power station automation, textile automation, high-rise building automation, and printing/papermaking automation), as well as a reference for engineers and technicians in the field of automatic control to learn MATLAB.
