A History of Western Legal Thought (Second Edition)

Author: He Qinhua
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2003-01-01
Features: This book has been well-received by readers and praised by peer experts since its first edition in 1996, leading to a reprint in 1997. For this second edition, in addition to correcting minor errors in the book, it incorporates the new achievements in Western legal studies from academia over the past three years. The original system, style, and content of the book have been retained. The foundation of this book is the lecture notes on "History of Western Law" that the author prepared for graduate students of foreign legal history at East China University of Political Science and Law in 1989. After using it as the second volume of legal history research, it underwent multiple revisions, supplements, and continuous enrichment of content, but the author has never been fully satisfied. From April 1993 to October 1994, the author, as a visiting scholar funded by the State Education Commission, had the privilege of studying at the Faculty of Law, Tokyo University, Japan for a second time. This experience played a significant role in enriching the content of the book and improving its quality.
