Features: Huang Pili, styled Shaowu, also known as Shaopu, styled Raopu, was a native of Wu Prefecture in Jiangsu Province (now Suzhou) during the Qing Dynasty. He was born in the 28th year of the Qianlong reign (1763) and died in the 5th year of the Daoguang reign (1825). In the 53rd year of the Qianlong reign (1788), he became a recommended scholar and served as a chief clerk in the Ministry of Personnel. He was a lifelong enthusiast of learning and ancient studies, and had a strong fondness for collecting books. He particularly valued Song and Yuan dynasty printed books and spared no effort to purchase them whenever he heard of them, earning the reputation of a "book maniac." This book combines the chronology written by Jiang Biao and the chronology written by Mr. Wang into one compilation, which is currently the most comprehensive edition for understanding the life of Huang Pili. The two volumes of "Chronology of Huang Pili" included in this book were also written by Jiang Biao and published in "Lingye Pavilion Collection." This "Chronology of Huang Pili" was published in 1988.
