Features: This book takes the evolution of ci poetry as its main thread, with the rise and fall of ci schools and major ci creation activities and collective practices in different periods as its backbone, thereby weaving in discussions on the creative achievements of renowned and outstanding ci poets. The evaluation focuses on exploring the historical trends of "causes" and "changes" in terms of both cognitive value and aesthetic value. Any "history" should not and cannot deviate from the chronological order of historical eras. The times and human hearts always directly or indirectly influence or dominate the evolution of literary trends, and the resonance between the ci poetry trends of the Qing Dynasty and the times and human hearts is equally harmonious. However, the history of ci poetry is not the history of social and political events, so the history of ci poetry cannot be entirely the same as the chronological divisions of historical books. Especially for the evolution of ci poetry trends during the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods, applying the conventional chronological divisions of "modern history" would seem impractical. Considering that the history of literature or the history of literary forms is not suitable for textual criticism and differentiation, this book does not delve into the birth and death years of a considerable number of ci poets, although they are obtained through the author's research of historical materials. Generally, no textual criticism is provided, and it is planned to compile a separate monograph on this topic.
