Doctor's answer:
Recently, the area around the vulva has started to become red and swollen. At first, I didn't pay much attention, but later it became severe, and it started to hurt in waves. Recently, the pain has become more frequent, and sometimes there is bleeding. Now, some small white spots have started to appear on the vulva, and despite taking many medications, there has been no improvement.Stage I: At this stage, the main symptom of vulvar leukoplakia in women is itching. Some patients experience severe itching, which worsens at night. Constant scratching can lead to redness, swelling, and rupture. There may also be a burning sensation or other discomfort.
Stage II: On the basis of Stage I symptoms, the affected skin area shows hyperkeratosis, and the vulvar skin locally appears with mild hypopigmentation (usually more common on the inner sides of the labia majora and minora). It forms as pinpoint or small white papules, with a powdery white appearance.
Stage III: The hyperkeratosis of the skin is severe, with repeated shedding of the keratin layer. Or, due to scratching, the vulva may become swollen, edematous, cracked, or eroded. There may be itching accompanied by pain, and patients feel the symptoms are severe.
