His artistic life experienced the formation and development of the Chang'an Painting School in its entirety. His works are an important part of the style of the Chang'an Painting School and also a significant part of the innovation in modern Chinese landscape painting, or what can be called Chinese national landscape painting. This book selects dozens of his important landscape paintings to delight his friends and painting enthusiasts.
The fundamental spirit of Chinese painting lies in the poetic quality of brush and ink to vividly reproduce the realm of "Dao," thereby achieving a supreme realm of brushwork that is naturally formed, where the spirit harmonizes with the object, the brush follows the heart, the ink overflows with emotion, transcends the realm of imagery, and unifies heaven and man. The specific operation and mastery of expressing this supreme realm of "Dao" in Chinese painting rely on the discipline of calligraphy, as well as the spatial rhythm of dots, lines, and planes brought about by the up-and-down, left-and-right, opening-and-closing, and gathering-and-scattering movements of the brush during painting.
