Differences between early embryos and early blastocysts

Patient's question:

No

Doctor's answer:

Early Embryo: The early cell division of the fertilized egg is called cleavage, and the resulting daughter cells are called blastomeres. On the third day after fertilization, the number of blastomeres reaches 12 to 16, forming a morula. When the number of blastomeres increases to around 100, a large cavity appears between the cells, filled with liquid, making the entire embryo resemble a vesicle, hence the name blastocyst. The blastocyst consists of the blastocoel, trophoblast, and inner cell mass. Early Blastocyst: As cleavage progresses, by the 16-cell stage, the division rate slows down, and internal changes occur in the embryo, forming a blastocyst.
