I had two cases of preeclampsia wanting a healthy child.

Patient's question:

At 7 months pregnant, I experienced severe edema all over my body. After seeking treatment at Shijiazhuang People's Hospital for a week with no improvement, I underwent a cesarean section to deliver a male infant, who later passed away. In 2013, I was pregnant for five and a half months with unstable blood pressure. At six and a half months, I was hospitalized at Shijiazhuang Maternal and Child Hospital for treatment due to fetal growth issues. After ten days of treatment with no improvement, I underwent induction of labor at 29 weeks.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, prenatal check-up visits should be increased, close attention should be paid to changes in the condition, and contact with the doctor should be maintained, as well as following their guidance and arrangements; patients with moderate to severe preeclampsia should be admitted to the hospital for treatment upon diagnosis. The main treatments include muscle relaxation (magnesium sulfate), blood pressure reduction [3] (diazepam), sedation, reasonable volume expansion, diuretics when necessary, and timely termination of pregnancy. For severe patients, if there is no improvement in condition after 24 to 48 hours of hospital treatment, termination of pregnancy should be considered. Some patients may develop postpartum hypertension and kidney disease, so postpartum follow-up should be conducted to monitor blood pressure and renal function. If abnormalities are found, timely treatment should be provided.
