Causes of hydrosalpinx What causes hydrosalpinx

Patient's question:

No

Doctor's answer:

Hydrosalpinx is a relatively common disease among chronic tubitis. The causes of hydrosalpinx may be two-fold:
(1) When chronic tubitis occurs, the fimbriae of the fallopian tube may become adhered and occluded due to inflammation, leading to the gradual accumulation of exudate and transudate within the tubal lumen.
(2) In some cases, hydrosalpinx may develop from tubal pyosalpinx. The original pus cells and necrotic tissue are gradually cleared by phagocytes, and the purulent fluid gradually transforms into clear, watery fluid.
