Features: On the eve of the "15th Five-Year Plan," the Ministry of Education issued the "Opinions on the Construction and Reform of General Higher Education Textbooks During the 15th Five-Year Plan Period." At that time, the construction and reform of textbooks in general higher education institutions were in full swing, with the economics and management programs at the forefront of this reform. New textbooks that met the demands of the times and the needs of reform naturally became our primary focus. Therefore, we jointly organized and published the "General Higher Education Economics and Management Discipline Planning Textbooks" with the Northern Universities Management Specialty Teaching Collaboration. We hope that this initiative will lead to the publication of textbooks with distinct features and reflect the ongoing teaching reforms. We also hope to encourage more university teachers to join the team of textbook authors. At the beginning of the organization and writing of these textbooks, we solicited topics from relevant universities. It is heartening to note that many teachers from different schools have highly evaluated these textbooks and expressed their willingness to participate in the writing process. For this reason, we would like to provide an explanation of the relevant matters concerning the publication of these textbooks.
Scope of Topics. The topics for the economics discipline in general higher education institutions mainly include: economics, national economic management, agricultural economics, industrial economics, and trade economics. The topics for the management discipline in general higher education institutions mainly include: management, economics, operations research, marketing, production and operations management, etc.
Topic Submission. Applicants for the chief editor or co-editor positions of the textbooks need to fill out the "General Higher Education Economics and Management Discipline Planning Textbook Topic Application Form" or the "General Higher Education Economics and Management Discipline Planning Textbook Co-editor Application Form." These two application forms can be obtained from China Railway Publishing House or Economic Science Press.
Textbook Publication. The topic materials submitted by each university will be reviewed by the Northern Universities Management Specialty Teaching Collaboration. Those that meet the publication criteria will be approved and included in our publishing plan. A dedicated person will then be assigned to contact the chief editor who has applied to publish the textbook.
