Author: Wang Qichang, Editor-in-Chief
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2006-08-01
Features: This exercise book is revised based on the 3rd edition and is designed to be used alongside Wang Qichang, Editor-in-Chief's vocational and technical education textbook "Technical Drawing" (4th edition). The revision is based on the "Teaching Syllabus for Mechanical Drawing in Vocational and Technical Schools" issued by the Ministry of Education in 2000, taking into account the needs of students and graduates in their work. While retaining the features of the 3rd edition, it further emphasizes reading drawings as the main focus, integrating reading and drawing exercises. Each chapter includes a certain number of reading drawing exercises to ensure continuous training for students, overcome the learning difficulties caused by "jumping" in reading, and achieve a spiral improvement in reading skills. To enhance reading ability and address difficulties in visualization, the training methods adopt an effective and vivid approach, such as stretching views and thickening feature surfaces for rapid reading, as well as converting abstract thinking into more concrete methods like convex/concave shaping, shape cutting, and surface assembly. The reading exercises are designed with a focus on "more thinking, less hands-on" and "more multiple-choice, less drawing," with carefully selected questions to maximize effective training time. The book increases and strengthens the training on reading section views, cross-section views, and part drawings. After studying this exercise book, students are expected to develop a solid foundation and basic skills in reading drawings. The book reduces the frequency and requirements for students to draw formal assignments, emphasizing sketching exercises. This exercise book adopts the new "Technical Drawing" and "Mechanical Drawing" national standards. It is suitable for mechanical and near-mechanical majors in vocational and technical schools (full-time regular secondary vocational schools, vocational high schools, and technical schools) as a drawing textbook, and can also be referenced by students in similar majors in other engineering colleges and engineering technicians.
