Is my child's eye okay?

Patient's question:

My daughter, who is one and a half years old, fell off the bed two days ago and her eye might have hit the corner of the table. At first, there was nothing noticeable, but later it started to swell and gradually turned blue. Today, I noticed a small red spot near her eye corner. Is it conjunctivitis? Will it be a problem? The child is in excellent spirits and very playful.

Doctor's answer:

This condition can be treated with heat application combined with anti-inflammatory and blood-activating, blood-stasis-dispelling medications. If congestion occurs for no more than 24 hours, it can be treated with cold application. Such congestion is classified as hemorrhagic. Therefore, early cold application helps control bleeding. The congestion will decrease. As long as it exceeds 24 hours, the blood vessels will heal. If the congestion is not absorbed, it can be resolved through heat compression, which accelerates the elimination of congestion, thereby resolving it.
