What are the reasons for high C-reactive protein?

Patient's question:

My baby suddenly started crying violently a week ago, accompanied by sounds of being sick and looking wilted. When taken to the hospital, no illness was detected, but on the second day of admission, redness and swelling were found in the groin area, along with a fever of 38.5°C. The doctor diagnosed it as inflammation of the baby's legs due to the tightness of the diaper. The first blood test showed C-reactive protein at 53.

Doctor's answer:

How is the complete blood count and erythrocyte sedimentation rate? Is there any redness, swelling, and pain in the groin area? Is there any deep fluctuation sensation? Is there any superficial lymphadenopathy? Based on the situation you described, it occurs when the body is infected or tissues are damaged. Some proteins in the plasma rapidly increase. Fever and elevated C-reactive protein indicate a bacterial infection and the presence of inflammation. Active anti-inflammatory treatment should be applied.
