Features: Qi Baishi's paintings are highly favored, so there are many published collections of his works. However, with quantity comes the challenge of organization—while abundance provides a foundation for sorting, chaos demands it. The term "chaos" refers to excessive repetition, some of which lacks chronological order, and others are unclear about their collection origins. There are also forgeries, which pose an even more serious issue. Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House first undertook the task of collection. They gathered all the previously published collections of Qi Baishi's paintings that possessed certain authority. Additionally, they collected works from both public and private collectors to ensure completeness. The second step was authentication, as the paintings were collected, especially those published in auction catalogs, needed to be verified as genuine. The third step involved dating and arranging the works chronologically to reveal the trajectory of Qi Baishi's artistic development, providing great convenience for admirers and researchers. Furthermore, each painting is annotated with its collection institution or collector, as well as important bibliographic references (such as published collections).
