Patient's question:
My baby is now five years old. I recently feel that he might have cerebral palsy, but I don't know much about it. I want to consult a doctor: what are the symptoms of pediatric cerebral palsy?Doctor's answer:
Symptoms of Cerebral Palsy:1. Feeding difficulties after birth, such as weak sucking ability and swallowing problems.
2. Poor coordination, asymmetry, and random movements are rarely observed.
3. Delayed motor development. For example, a child cannot hold their prone position upright between 3 to 4 months of age; after 4 months, the forearms cannot be used to support weight; the hands are often clenched into fists, and the hands cannot be sucked into the mouth; by 6 to 7 months, the child still cannot roll over or sit for a short while, and so on.
4. Abnormal muscle tone, posture, and movement patterns are common.
5. Children often cry quickly, have little movement, and produce low-pitched cries or cries that are easily stimulated, easily startled, or repetitive.
