Features: This is the vast difference caused by a single thought. Both in Africa and facing barefoot people, one became discouraged and returned without fighting, while the other remained full of confidence and achieved a great victory. The essence of the "single thought" of this lucky person lies in developing a positive mindset and establishing a belief in success. Throughout our life journey, we often encounter such situations—how should we face them? Not to fall in competition, but to win in perseverance. Besides seizing opportunities, the most important thing is to possess the courage and positive psychological qualities that ordinary people lack. Do not be self-effacing, give up on yourself, be fickle, or easily swayed by change. Instead, pursue with determination, strive for self-improvement, remain composed in success or failure, and bravely express yourself. Psychological attitude and spiritual strength are everyone's guide in life. Cultivate your resilience and face every day, every task, and every person with a positive mindset. In this way, your days will surely be bright and fulfilling. Conversely, if you always face each day with a gloomy expression, your life will inevitably be shrouded in darkness and constant emptiness, leaving you restless and anxious. Psychological strength determines the ups and downs of your life. Because mentally healthy people can not only face situations correctly but also actively change them, while psychologically fragile people often fail to take control of themselves, lose opportunities, and ultimately end up accomplishing nothing, even sinking into the depths of failure without escape.
1. Water can carry a boat, but it can also capsize it.
The famous Tang Dynasty Emperor once said, "Water can carry a boat, but it can also capsize it." This refers to the art of governance, meaning the people can support the ruler or overthrow the ruler. Here, we use it to the relationship between psychological qualities and success, which is quite reasonable. The quality of one's psychological traits has a profound impact on their life. A strong or successful person is not one who first gains great abilities before overcoming challenges but one with excellent psychological qualities and the courage to advance. Only by remaining calm and fearless, and by being confident and decisive, can one accomplish every task. Good psychological qualities are like a vast and calm river, safely guiding your career ship to the shore of success. On the other hand, destructive emotions, inexplicable fears, groundless self-doubt, weak willpower, and constant anxieties about the future are like towering waves of a flood, inevitably capsizing one's career boat. Napoleon Hill told us that our mindset largely determines the success or failure of our lives.
① How we treat life, life treats us in return.
② How we treat others, others treat us in return.
③ The mindset we have at the beginning of a task determines how much success we will achieve later—more important than any other factor. With a positive mindset, you may reach the shore of success. Conversely, those with a negative mindset may occasionally achieve temporary success by chance, but it is likely to be fleeting.
2. Without courage, you will lose everything.
The first step for anyone on the path to success is courage. Whether a person's psychological qualities are good or bad depends first on whether they are brave. In modern society, the emphasis is on participation. Only by participating can one discover hidden opportunities. Without courage to participate, nothing will be gained. With good psychological qualities, one would not be discouraged, anxious, or embarrassed even if participation yields nothing. Because daring to participate proves that you are willing to face unfamiliar environments, confront difficulties, and learn from failures to turn defeat into victory. In fact, we should do everything worth doing in this world as much as possible, without retreating or trembling, fearing cold and danger. We should leap forward, ride the wind and waves, or break through obstacles and climb with effort. During World War II, Britain joined the anti-Fascist alliance. To conquer Britain, Hitler ordered thousands of German planes to bomb British cities, turning countless British cities into ruins. Facing Germany, which was superior in both equipment and troop strength, Prime Minister Churchill delivered a speech. He believed that to defeat Germany, it was first necessary to inspire the British people, urging them to face the war with courage and resist Germany. He passionately declared: "We will not sink or fail. We will fight on until the very end. We will fight with ever-increasing confidence and strength. We will defend our islands at all costs. We will never surrender. And even if—I refuse to believe this for a moment—if this island or most of it is conquered and we face starvation, the 'empire' across the sea will arm itself, guarded by the 'Royal Navy,' and continue the fight until the moment chosen by heaven, when the 'New World' will come with its strength and power to save and liberate the old world." Churchill's highly motivational speech deeply inspired the British people's fighting spirit, encouraging all the British. The entire nation united as one, with immense courage, repelling the German invasion and successfully crushing Hitler's ambition to destroy Britain.
Successors are always brave people—there are no truly successful individuals who are psychologically weak or timid. P2-4
