Features: China is a country with a traditional planned economy. For a long time, the idea of "government omnipotence" has been deeply rooted. Therefore, in the reform of the economic system, it is particularly important to prevent "inappropriate government actions" or "government function overextension" and to give full play to the fundamental role of the market mechanism in resource allocation. China's economic and political reforms have reached a critical stage. To advance the reforms further, we believe the key is to establish the boundary between government and the market, utilize the power of the market to improve the role of the government, and enhance government efficiency. Therefore, further strengthening the study of government economics is especially significant for China, which is undergoing a systemic transition. Since "government economics" is already one of the core courses for public management, especially for public administration, we have written this book to explore the continuous innovation of China's government system during the transition period and to meet the teaching needs of the public administration major at our university regarding "government economics." Through a scientific analysis of government's economic management behavior and a summary of the lessons learned from China's socialist economic system reform, we aim to examine the behavior of the government under market economy conditions, thereby providing a scientific positioning for the government and the market.
