Constructing Corporate Trust Responsibility - Emerging Social and Ethical Accounting. Audit Reporting Practices

Publish Date: 2006-07-01
Features: This is not a dry academic book but a practice book full of the editors' and authors' experiences in SEAAR. It is neither a textbook nor a manual, nor a publication focused on exploring answers. It is a book that provides practical guidance through the elaboration and analysis of case experiences. The purpose of this book is to express support for the emerging corporate social and ethical agenda among individuals in business groups, consultants serving business groups, and students planning to enter the business world in the future. This book is a product of historical development and ambitious goals. It explains the importance of this emerging agenda, summarizes the development process of SEAAR practices to date, and explores potential directions for the next few years. Finally, it provides a set of case studies on SEAAR practices. This book is also a "work in progress," as it is not perfect because its scope and role are continuously expanding the content of social and ethical accounting and auditing. The case studies discussed in the last two chapters have influenced many companies around the world and are currently being tested and changing their practices. The development of the "Social and Ethical Accountability Responsibility Association" has also surpassed the writing process of this book, making the content of the last two chapters outdated by the time of publication. This is actually a happy thing for a work in progress.
