What methods are used to treat children with cerebral palsy?

Patient's question:

What methods are used to treat cerebral palsy children, and which hospital is the best for treatment? My daughter is 6 years old. She was in an incubator for seven months premature, and now she walks with her toes not touching the ground.

Doctor's answer:

Cerebral palsy is a syndrome caused by non-progressive brain damage during the developmental process in the first month after birth, primarily characterized by central motor disorders and abnormal postures. It may be associated with intellectual disability, seizures, behavioral abnormalities, or sensory impairments, and it is necessary to rule out central disorders caused by normal children's progressive diseases and transient developmental delays. There are four abnormalities in pediatric cerebral palsy: motor developmental delay; cerebral palsy. Abnormal muscle tone and posture; reduced active movement and/or abnormal movement; abnormal reflexes. For children with cerebral palsy, multidisciplinary rehabilitation training should be conducted first. If there are issues affecting rehabilitation training or the child's growth and development, surgical intervention should be performed, followed by continued rehabilitation training.
