Patient's question:
NoDoctor's answer:
Mild turbidity of amniotic fluid in the late stage of pregnancy is due to fetal metabolic products in the amniotic fluid and is considered normal. If there is intraamniotic infection, excessive fetal vernix, maternal cholestasis syndrome, or fetal intrapartum hypoxia, the amniotic fluid will become significantly turbid in the second trimester. Opinion/Suggestion: It is recommended to perform amniocentesis for sampling examination.
