Doctor's answer:

This condition can often be treated but may recur. The average duration of the disease is 4 weeks (1–6 weeks). The length of the course is related to the following factors: (1) whether vital organs are affected; (2) the severity of the acute phase; (3) whether it recurs repeatedly. Patients with simple skin type or joint type have a shorter course, lasting about 1–2 weeks; those with abdominal type have a course of about 3–5 weeks; and those with renal type have the longest course, which can last for 4–5 years or more. The prognosis is better for skin type and joint type, and for abdominal type, if there are no complications such as intussusception or intestinal obstruction, the prognosis is also good. Most renal type patients can recover with treatment, but if the condition persists without improvement, it may develop into chronic renal failure or even uremia.
