Features: This book is the second volume in the series "Legends of the Tiger Generals of the People's Liberation Army." The Second Field Army was established by the reorganization of the Eighth Route Army and local armed forces that fought in the border areas of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, and Jiangsu during the Anti-Japanese War. When the army was initially formed, it had less than 300,000 personnel, but by May 1950 when it liberated Tibet, it had grown to 1.2 million. Complementing the army's remarkable achievements were some of the most renowned generals in Chinese military history. Liu Bocheng, the commander-in-chief of the Second Field Army, was a celebrated military strategist both domestically and internationally. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was rightfully awarded the rank of Marshal. Among the ten Marshals of the People's Liberation Army, two belonged to the Second Field Army (Chen Geng and Wang Shusheng). During the first rank promotion, the Second Field Army produced eight Generals and 27 Vice Generals, with a total of 247 generals from the entire army. Due to space limitations and incomplete information on some generals, this book can only describe 10 of the 247 generals from the Second Field Army. For other formidable generals of the Second Field Army, we must reluctantly omit them for future introductions. Even so, the descriptions of these 10 tiger generals can only briefly summarize the highlights of their military careers, inevitably omitting some details. In just tens of thousands of words, the author strives to highlight the distinctive personalities and legendary stories of these tiger generals through one or more aspects.
