Publish Date: 2006-07-01
Features: In recent years, due to the discovery of fullerenes and carbon nanotubes, research on carbon materials has attracted widespread attention from the global materials science community, the physics community, and the chemistry community. This book systematically introduces the scientific theoretical knowledge and engineering application examples of carbon materials. Part I is the introduction, which introduces the purpose of writing this book, the classification and development history of carbon materials, as well as the diversity of carbon. Part II is the fundamental scientific knowledge of carbon materials, mainly introducing the structure, properties, and preparation processes of carbon materials, especially the principles of carbonization and graphitization and their microstructural control technologies, pore size control of porous carbon, and the technology of doping other atoms into carbon materials. Various characterization methods of carbon materials are also covered. Part III mainly focuses on the engineering and application issues of carbon materials, especially the development of new carbon materials and their application examples in energy, environmental protection, nuclear energy, and defense. It involves graphite electrodes, high-density isotropic graphite, high-orientation pyrolytic graphite, vitreous carbon, fibrous carbon, porous carbon, and graphitic intercalation compounds, among others. In recent years, due to the discovery of fullerenes and carbon nanotubes, research on carbon materials has attracted widespread attention from the global materials science community, the physics community, and the chemistry community. This book systematically introduces the scientific theoretical knowledge and engineering application examples of carbon materials.
